New Tool for Clients to measure
Cultural Competency
of leaders
December 13, 2008
We are pleased to announce that we have added a new tool for our clients which measures actual and perceived cultural competency designed for leaders who are leading people across cultures.
The IDI is an empirical measure of “intercultural sensitivity” as conceptualized by Milton Bennett’s Development Model of Intercultural Sensitivity (DMIS). The DMIS has been used extensively in intercultural education and training.
International Advantage is currently using the IDI with leaders of one of the largest professional services firms in the world and one of the Big Four auditors.
The IDI is ideal for individuals in a variety of situations including:
- When global management of cultural differences is a key ingredient for success in your organization
- Before or during an overseas assignment
- To diagnose the current state of intercultural sensitivity for a diversity programs
- Working in multicultural communities or environments where misunderstandings have occurred
The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) is owned and operated by Mitchell R. Hammer, Ph.D., and is offered through IDI, LLC.
