Dear Lisa:
I need to learn Spanish and wondered if there were some resources online that can help me?

Here is a list of shareware programs that I came across in a newspaper for IBM-compatible computers. Users try them for free, and then register if they decide to use them regularly.
- Talking Spanish (IBM, Sound Blaster-Compatible card) – Learn vocabulary, pronunciation and common words. For Beginners. (SPNISH.ZIP)
- Alpha Quiz (IBM) – Vocabulary builder for Spanish to English or English to Spanish. Young and older students can use this one. (AQ1S.ZIP)
- Spanish Helper (IBM) – This is the first level of an interactive quizzing program. Registered users get two more levels. (SPANISH113.ZIP)
- Dos Pasos (IBM) -- This interactive program starts with multiple choice questions, then lets you graduate to fill-in-the-blank. (DOSPASOS.ZIP)
- Europa! (IBM, mouse, VGA monitor) – Advanced students will find this European geography program helpful. (EURSPV11.ZIP)
- Spanish Vocabulary Quizzer (IBM) – This little freeware program gives multiple-choice answers to English words. (SPANISH.ZIP)
- Lingua Pro (IBM) – For more advanced students, this one gets into phrases. (LPRSP260.ZIP)
I read that you can get copies of all seven Let’s Speak Spanish programs for IBM compatibles for $20 (plus tax for Californians) through Shareware, P.O. Box 7037, Long Beach, CA 90807. Credit cards: 800-395-7797. Fax: 310-426-0110.
I haven’t tested this myself, so don’t hold me responsible, but seems like a good way to try them all. ¡Buena suerte! .
