We've included the questions and anwers to some of our most common inquiries.
Do you only work in global or culturally diverse environments?
While having a culturally diverse environment is not a requirement to work with us, we differentiate ourselves with our expertise in this area.
Because of our extensive international experience, we are uniquely positioned to help our clients focus on their positioning, processes and operation within a global framework. If you have a culturally diverse leadership team, or you operate in the global marketplace, we will likely be a great fit with your organization.
What do cultural differences have to do with organizational development?
If your team is culturally diverse or your team operates in a global business environment, you have likely seen the implications for yourself. To successfully communicate daily in the global environment implies extra challenges for any team. These challenges may include differences in values, communication styles and global mindset.
Kevin Avruch, renowned cultural anthropology professor at George Mason University's Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution says:
- "While cultural differences do not cause conflict, cultural differences are always visible and can represent important social differences."
- “Differences can be politicized in organizations and it becomes ethnicity, nationalism or ethno-nationalism."
- In addition, “cultural differences are used to disguise things. “Disguise" is not necessarily intentional. The larger issue is power, which is almost always disguised.” Power and decision-making are fundamental aspects of organizational development.
We differentiate ourselves by bringing an awareness of the needs of diverse teams in order for them to be successful, as well as the ability to help teams recognize, address implications and leverage the potential of their diversity.
